“I Love how i look in photos!”

Do these words sound familiar?

If your answer is no, you're not alone. Honestly, I've met very few people who would agree with the above sentiment. But I'm here to change that. Because confidence has a huge impact on how you make connections with others and can significantly increase your ability to create forever clients and build strong partnerships.

With 5 easy tips for you to put into practice, you'll be on your way to feeling more confident behind the lens.

Keep your largest feature furthest from the camera

You know how they say the camera adds ten pounds? Well, it doesn't quite, BUT... it can make things appear larger or smaller depending on how close they are to the camera. So, insecure about your arms? Position them away from the camera to make them look slimmer. Want your hips to look smaller? Angle the camera from above to bring your upper body closer to the lens.

Remember what your mama said

"Stand up straight and keep your shoulders back!" Although it feels stiff for most, great posture does make a huge difference in how confident and tall you look. Tucking in your pelvis as you stand straight makes your stomach look flatter and decreases "the pooch" we all try to conceal.

Outfits matter

Well-fitting clothes that are structured around the "fluffy parts" and hit the right length can make you look slimmer and even taller. Try on your looks in front of a well-lit mirror and even have a friend take a few test shots of you in your outfits before you commit.

Practice!

It definitely feels unnatural for most of us (myself included) to take "selfies" in a mirror or practice our smile, but the more often you put yourself in front of the lens, the more opportunities you have to learn your angles. And the more photos you take, the more confident you look and feel.

Cut the negativity

Along the lines of the previous note, I offer this last piece of advice: Stop the negativity. I know photos can be awkward, but a lack of self-love stands out in photos. So, instead of saying "I hate photos" or "I always look bad in pictures," be your biggest advocate and cheerleader. Talk yourself up like you do your friends! I promise it makes a difference.

And so my friend, it's as easy as baking a cake. Which, I'll admit, isn't all that easy... but, who said running a business would be?! So, get to it! I'll be right here cheering you on.

Until next time!
